Billing Analyst job description

As a Billing Analyst, you will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely billing for our organization. You will play a vital role in the financial operations of the company, as your analysis and reports will directly impact revenue recognition, cash flow, and overall financial performance. You will work closely with the finance and accounting teams to make informed decisions and provide valuable insights.

Key Responsibilities:

• Review and process customer invoices in accordance with company policies and procedures
• Validate billing data to ensure accuracy and completeness
• Investigate and resolve any billing discrepancies or issues
• Prepare and analyze monthly billing reports and financial statements
• Identify trends and patterns in billing data to improve efficiency and minimize errors
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather data and ensure billing accuracy
• Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes
• Participate in financial audits and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of billing principles, practices, and regulations
• Provide excellent customer service to internal and external stakeholders

Minimum Requirements:

• Proven experience as a Billing Analyst or similar role
• Proficiency in billing systems and software
• Strong analytical skills with an attention to detail
• Excellent organizational and time management abilities
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to handle confidential information with integrity
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other relevant software

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or a related field
• CPA or other related certifications are a plus

Recommended Skill Set:

• Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
• Experience with ERP systems such as SAP or Oracle
• Proficient in data analysis and reporting tools
• Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
• Ability to collaborate and work well within a team
• Experience in the telecommunications industry is a plus
• Knowledge of billing regulations and compliance
• Understanding of revenue recognition principles
