As an Accounting Assistant, you will support the finance and accounting team by performing various administrative tasks related to fiscal management, budgeting, bookkeeping, and financial analysis. Your role will be vital in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of financial transactions and assisting with the preparation of financial reports.

As an Accounting Assistant, your responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting in the preparation of financial statements, reports, and budgets
  • Processing and recording financial transactions such as accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll
  • Verifying and reconciling financial data, documents, and reports
  • Maintaining accurate and up-to-date financial records and documentation
  • Assisting in the preparation of tax returns and compliance documents
  • Supporting the finance team in financial analysis and forecasting
  • Performing general administrative tasks such as filing, data entry, and answering phone calls
  • Assisting with the implementation of financial policies and procedures
  • Providing support during audits and other financial assessments
  • Collaborating with other departments to ensure cross-functional alignment and accurate financial reporting
  • Proven work experience as an Accounting Assistant or similar role
  • Sound knowledge of accounting principles and financial regulations
  • Proficiency in accounting software and MS Office (especially Excel)
  • Excellent attention to detail and numerical skills
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
  • High degree of accuracy and efficiency
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • Professional certification (such as CPA or ACCA) is a plus
  • Proficient in using accounting software systems (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, or Oracle Financials)
  • Knowledge of financial analysis and forecasting techniques
  • Experience with financial reporting and preparing financial statements
  • Familiarity with tax regulations and compliance requirements
  • Ability to analyze financial data and generate meaningful insights
  • Experience with payroll processing and understanding payroll regulations
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including the ability to create complex spreadsheets and perform data analysis
  • Knowledge of general ledger reconciliation and basic bookkeeping principles
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to identify and resolve discrepancies
